Reduce White PollutionIt is reported in China Youth Daily that a big supermarket in the city of Beijing has made a new decision that in order to reduce white pollu-tion,the market will no longer provide the customers with free plastic bags.In my opinion,the decision will have both positive and negative effects.As is known,people throw away used plastic bags wherever they want to and the white pollution is becoming a danger to peoples life.There is no doubt that the decision will do good to the environment.However,it will bring much inconvenience to the customers.To solve this problem,I think the supermarket can provide paper bags or encourage the customers to bring along bags of their own.But what I want to point out is that stopping providing plastic bags is far from being the best way to protect the earth from white pollution.Its not until everyone understands the importance of protecting environ-ment that the world will be really clean.

Pollution is harmful to human beings. Polluted water causes many kinds of diseases such as diarrhea,enteritis,etc. And sometimes these diseases even take man’s life. However,pollution problems have not been completely solved. Pesticides are widely used almost everywhere. They pollute soil,water and food. Quite a few chimneys are still pouring smoke into air and noise pollution remains serious.
