  基本結(jié)構(gòu):

  It is (was)+被強(qiáng)調(diào)部分+ that (who)+句子其他部分。此結(jié)構(gòu)強(qiáng)調(diào)的成分僅限于主語、賓語和狀語。

  例如:

  It is not only blind men who make such stupid mistakes.

  It was the goat’s eyes that he had seen in the darkness.

  It is from the sun that we get light and heat.

  It was not until I had read your letter that I understood the true state of affairs.

  下面給出一個句子,根據(jù)強(qiáng)調(diào)的內(nèi)容不同,做出的不同形式的強(qiáng)調(diào)句:

  原句:My father did the experiment in the lab yesterday evening.

  強(qiáng)調(diào)主語:It was my father who did the experiment in the lab yesterday evening.

  強(qiáng)調(diào)賓語:It was the experiment that my father did in the lab yesterday evening.

  強(qiáng)調(diào)時間:It was yesterday evening that my father did the experiment in the lab. (注意不用when)

  強(qiáng)調(diào)地點(diǎn):It was in the lab that my father did the experiment yesterday evening.

  有幾個方面是必須注意的:

  1.條件,讓步狀語從句不能用強(qiáng)調(diào)句型改寫,例如:

  If it rains, we won’t go out. 如果下雨,我們就不出去。

  We’ll try to finish the work in time though we are short of man power. 盡管我們?nèi)耸植粔颍覀円矔M力按時完成工作。

  2.It-type強(qiáng)調(diào)句可強(qiáng)調(diào)because引導(dǎo)的原因狀語從句,但不可強(qiáng)調(diào)as, since引導(dǎo)的原因狀語從句,例如:

  I do it because I like it.因?yàn)槲蚁矚g,我才干?蓮(qiáng)調(diào)為:It is because I like it that I do it.

  下面這個句子則不可以強(qiáng)調(diào):

  Since no one is against it, we’ll adopt the proposal.

  3.It-type強(qiáng)調(diào)句可強(qiáng)調(diào)so that引起的目的狀語從句,但不能強(qiáng)調(diào)so that 引起的結(jié)果狀語從句,例如:

  The six blind men asked the driver to stop the beast so that they could have a "look". 六個盲人要求趕象人讓這頭巨獸停下來,以便他們能“看一看”?蓮(qiáng)調(diào)為:It was so that they could have a "look" that the six blind men asked the driver to stop the beast.

  下面這個句子則不可以強(qiáng)調(diào):

  He didn’t plan his time well, so that he didn’t finish the work in time.

  4.對由until引起的短語或從句強(qiáng)調(diào),要注意否定前移,例如:

  I didn’t learn it until yesterday.寫成強(qiáng)調(diào)句型是:It was not until yesterday that I learned it.

  He didn’t come back until his wife fell asleep. 寫成強(qiáng)調(diào)句型是:It was not until his wife fell asleep that he came back.

  5.在中學(xué)英語課本中還多次出現(xiàn)“What…be…”結(jié)構(gòu)的句型(簡稱wh-type強(qiáng)調(diào)句),它同樣具有很濃的強(qiáng)調(diào)意味,例如:

  What we need is more time.我們需要的是更多的時間。

  我們可以用對待It-type強(qiáng)調(diào)句的方法,把“What…be…”作為一個框架而劃去,所剩的也是一個完整的句子:We need more time.不同的是,what和be在句子中都可以擔(dān)任成份。上面這個句子可以看成是 What引導(dǎo)一個主語從句,而be則 是系動詞,后接表語。

 。1)Wh-type強(qiáng)調(diào)句可用來強(qiáng)調(diào)主語、賓語、表語,例如:

  But what surprised me most was to see some of the village people seated on the benches at the end of the room.

  But what he was really interested in was beautiful paintings.

  What I feel is hungry.

 。2)wh-type強(qiáng)調(diào)句還可以通過使用動詞不定式或動詞-ing形式來強(qiáng)調(diào)句中的謂語動詞或作賓語補(bǔ)足語的非謂語動詞,例如:

  What I did was (to) turn off the tap.

  What I want you to do is (to) clean the room.

  What I’m doing is teaching him a lesson.

  (3)Wh-type強(qiáng)調(diào)句中的what從句,間或也作表語,例如:

  This was what they had posted on the bulletin board then! This was what the black smith was reading! 原來貼在布告牌上的就是這么回事!鐵匠在看的原來就是這個!

 。4)Wh-type強(qiáng)調(diào)句的wh-從句,有時可能是以who, where或when引導(dǎo),它們通常只用作表語,例如:

  The headmaster was who I meant. 我指的就是校長。

  Here is where the accident took place. 這兒就是事故發(fā)生的地方。

  (On) Saturday is when the housewives are busiest. 星期六是家庭主婦們最忙的日子。
