12月2日，美國總統(tǒng)布什宣布提名內(nèi)布拉斯加州州長邁克·約翰斯擔(dān)任農(nóng)業(yè)部長，接替已經(jīng)辭職的美國歷史上首位女性農(nóng)業(yè)部長維尼曼女士。據(jù)悉，布什已經(jīng)選定前紐約警察局長、現(xiàn)年49歲的科里克接替里奇出任國土安全部長，這一提名還需得到參議院批準(zhǔn)。外電報道如下：President Bush has chosen former New York police commissioner Bernard Kerik, who helped direct the emergency response to the Sept. 11 terrorist strikes against the Twin Towers, to lead the Homeland Security Department, charged with safeguarding Americans from future attack, administration officials said Thursday.

Bush also announced his choice of Nebraska Gov. Mike Johanns to be agriculture secretary, selecting a dairy farmer's son who has traveled widely to promote American farm sales abroad.
