1． 用介詞或介詞短語(yǔ)表示虛擬條件
常用的介詞或介詞短語(yǔ)主要有without（沒(méi)有），but for（要不是），in the absence of（如果沒(méi)有）或were it not for（要是沒(méi)有），but that（假設(shè)……不）等。例如：
Without electricity, there would not be modern industry.
But for the leadership of the Party, we couldn’t live such a happy life.
In the absence of gravity, there would be no air around the earth.
Example:
Without gravity, we ______ able to walk.

2． 用動(dòng)詞不定式表示虛擬條件

3． 通過(guò)上下文表示虛擬條件
常用的連接詞有or, otherwise, but等。例如：
I was very busy yesterday. Otherwise I would have come to see you.

4． 虛擬語(yǔ)氣用在...would(或had)rather（或would just as soon）+ 從句的句式中，表示與事實(shí)相反的愿望。從句謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞要用過(guò)去式。例如：
I would rather you stayed here.
I would rather that you didn’t do anything.
I’d just as soon you didn’t go there.
Example:
I’d just as soon ______ those important papers with you.

5． 虛擬語(yǔ)氣用在...had hoped that...句型中，表示過(guò)去未實(shí)現(xiàn)的愿望，意為“原本希望...”，從句謂語(yǔ)用would + 原形動(dòng)詞。例如：
I had hoped that she would answer my letter.
We had hoped that you would change your mind.
His father had hoped that he would be a scientist.
Example:
